Senegal edged through a fiery semi-final in extra time with a goal to nil against Tunisia to end the eagles of Carthage’s Africa Cup of nations title hopes at the semifinals stage on Saturday night, putting Aliu Cisse Men in the finals for the second time , after the teranga Lions lost to indomitable lions of Cameroon on penalty shootout in 2002 nations cup finals in Mali.

Ismailia Sarr ( Senegal) physically challenge in the eighteen yard in the 77mins and was awarded a penalty after a VAR confrontation, Henri saivet failed to score after being denied by the wood work.

After 90mins of play, the game went into extra 30mins of play and was probably heading into penalty shootout if things remains on level grounds but the dead lock was broken in the 100th minutes with a own goal from  Dylan Bronn(Tunisia), which sealed Senegal spot in the finals.

Teranga Lions would squad it off against the Derset Foxes on Friday 19/7/2019 at Cairo international stadium for the ultimate prize, whilst the eagles of Carthage’s(Tunisia )takes on the super eagles of Nigeria for a third place spot.

Liverpool star man, Sadio Mane chances of winning the Ballon D’or would be heighten if Senegal wins their first ever Africa Cup of nation title.

Mane has three goals and two assists to his credit , a contender for the golden boot if he is able to finish ahead of Ighalo of Nigeria who is currently on four goals.
